James has illustrated the works of Roger Zelazny, Robert E. Howard, Jules Verne, and many others. He has had artwork published in comics, science fiction-fantasy magazines, and novels. His recent publications include illustrated versions of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Mysterious Island, and interior art for Roger Zelazny's Seven Tales in Amber.  He is currently writing and drawing two books for Black Rose Writing featuring his  autobiographical character, Meathead.
